The current Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel building was conceived and built by Loews Corporation and had a daring architecture at the time it was completed, in 1975. Some of its foundations were sunk directly into the seabed as if the hotel were anchored into the Mediterranean shores. It was built on one of the most expensive pieces of real estate from the Côte d’Azur, positioned below the terraces that support the famous casino.
The hotel offers to its guests an open-air dining terrace, a rooftop pool, a high-class fitness center, conference rooms and its own casino. The resort is Monaco’s most concentrated in restaurants, bars and nightclubs and has attracted a great number of celebrities. Walter Cronkite and Peter Ustinov were here.
