Monaco, already smarting after being knocked out of the French Cup by amateurs Colmar, saw their last remaining hopes of earning some silverware this season dashed when they lost 1-0 to Nice in the League Cup semi-final.

The former Champions League finalists' were undone by an 89th minute header from Nice's Brazilian midfielder Ederson shortly after he had come on as a replacement for Marama Vahirua.

Nice's reward is a date in the final against the winner of Wednesday's semi between Nancy or Le Mans.
