AS Monaco FC's disappointing form continued as they suffered yet another defeat in Ligue 1 and they will have to improve if they are to cancel out FC Basel 1893's slender 1-0 advantage in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 second leg on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Swiss team equalled a club record for unbeaten home games but were left frustrated by struggling FC Schaffhausen.
OGC Nice 2-0 AS Monaco FC
Only eleven days after suffering a home defeat against Nice in the French League Cup semi-finals, Monaco were again undone by their Riviera rivals on Saturday, this time going down 2-0 in Ligue 1. Bakari Koné and David Bellion were both on target as the Principality club continued a dismal run which has seen them register just one league victory since the start of 2006, leaving them languishing in mid-table.
